Using Safelists

Safelist marketing is a bit complicated, time consuming, and many times disheartening, but don’t dispair!

Safelist marketing can be very helpful to your traffic generation and boost your business branding. If done properly it can be very uselful for building an awesome list and become a painless way to reach hundreds of thousands of people.

First, you must make sure you have a good safelist. I recommend the top twenty list from Traffic Hoopla. Some safelist are a waste of time, but there are many that will get good response.

A credit based safelist works best and I will name a few below that you can try out.

Adtactics and ListJoe are two that I use.

You must have an adtracker to discover which safelist are working and which are not. If you don’t get any clicks you surely won’t get any response or opt-ins. Hits Connect is the one I use, but there are many out there.

Now that you have your tracker make sure you track the link in your email ads and see if you are geting a good amount of clicks. I have never found safelists to be useful in selling products. What they are good for is giving away branded ebooks and information in trade for email adresses. Remember that building your list is one of the important aspects of building your business. This list of yours is a future steady residual income for you. Take it seriously!

They are also very useful for sign-ups to membership sites and traffic exchanges. Free to sign up sites people will readily join. If you are promoting a good traffic exchange or membership site they will then be able to sell these people on upgrades and BINGO! Now you are making money!

Remember, these people will only spend a second or two on your email before moving on. You must have a subject line that catches their attention to get them to click in the first place. Then you need to keep your email short, catchy and to the point. Your objective now is to get them to click your link. Your link needs to lead them to a very catchy spalsh page which will sell them on the idea of signing up or giving up their email. Again keep it short, sweet and to the point. Don’t be to wordy with your safelist advertising.

Now that you have the idea and your expectations are set correctly you can make this work. Choose 2-3 safelists 4-5 days a week and post to them regularly. Vary your emails and do not send the same email to all your safelists. Try your best to brand yourself or product. This will help in the long run because people will start to recognize you or your product and even though they may have passed it up in the past they will soon become curious and anxious to sign up!

Continuous and consistant usage is the name of the game. Make sure you track and use the sites that are getting you clicks. Don't try to sell just get names and make recommendations. Gain trust and then lead people to tools they need and will help them with their efforts. Remember, if you are not of help they do not need you. Share your knowledge, successes and failures. Guide and teach don't sell, and you will find that safelists work quite well.
